“...I’ve set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.” ~Deuteronomy 30:15

Intrigued by the meaning of the Kitsune mask and its role in pop culture, I created a piece for this show. Traditionally, the Fox has contradictory behavior and can be good or evil depending on the situation. In life and death you are the only person to decide the path you wish to take. Only you can open your eyes to see the beauty or the destruction. There’s so much going through my mind in this piece. Mashing up meanings of different cultures through good and evil and life and death. My mind can be a mess. Painting this piece gave me the chance to put those intertwining thoughts out there and gave me a sense of peace once I finished it.
